Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT)

Symposium

Due to the challenges presented by the current COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 SHOT symposium is cancelled and will be deferred to 2021. 

In line with government guidance on social distancing, and due to the unprecedented demands on the health service, we have taken the decision to defer the event. 

All delegates who have paid will be refunded. 

MHRA guidance

We fully support the MHRA guidance on the reporting of Serious Adverse Events and Serious Adverse Reactions during these challenging times: it is vital that learning is still gained from any errors reported to prevent further unnecessary harm occurring. 

Annual report

Our 2019 annual report will be published and available on the SHOT website from 7 July 2020. 

New app

We aim to have an app available later this year, to help make information easily available and to support on-going learning to improve transfusion safety. 

We're here to help

The SHOT team are here to help with any queries and provide support to our transfusion community. We would like to recognise and thank our colleagues for their commitment during these difficult circumstances.
