Please do not pack transport boxes with more than 4 Phase Change Materials (PCM)

One of our drivers was recently injured as result of too many PCMS being included in the transport box he was collecting, which made it unusually and unexpectedly heavy.  4 PCMs are added to transport boxes when components are packed for delivery, and the same number should be inside when the box is being returned.   

NHSBT duty of care is based upon our Manual Handling Risk Assessment and we do not expect drivers or Hospital Service staff to move containers that are heavier than usual. To protect our staff, if a driver finds a box overloaded with PCMs it will not be collected.
