Do not reduce the 'required time' for delivery / collection for blood and blood components

When an order is placed in OBOS (online blood ordering system) the system auto-populates the delivery / collection time and displays this in the 'Required time' field on the screen.

The required time is based on the preparation time plus the estimated travel time (detailed for each hospital in NHS Blood and Transplant's 'Contract for the Supply of Blood Components, Reagents and Services’).

The required time is the earliest time the order can be delivered or collected, and we ask that staff placing the order do not manually reduce it. The time may be extended, if appropriate.  

Future developments to OBOS include disabling manual reduction to the required time.
