National Blood Transfusion Committee (NBTC) updated Platelet Shortage Plan
The platelet shortage plan operates similarly to the red cell shortage plan with three phases dependent on NHSBT stock levels - Green, Amber and Red

NHSBT partners with Sheffield teaching hospitals to expand stem cell and bone marrow collection centre services for donors from DKMS (Delete Blood Cancer) from 1 April 2019
Providing services for DKMS will establish NHSBT as the only NHS provider to all three stem cell and bone marrow registries operating in England.
