Requesting an emergency delivery

Ordering when OBOS is not available  

The hospital blood transfusion laboratory must:

• Complete the relevant sections of the emergency component request form (Word 49KB)
• Fax or email the form to your local blood centre
• Telephone to confirm receipt; this call marks the start time of the delivery
• Please confirm details such as target delivery time during the call 

In extraordinary circumstances we will issue components without a fax or email, but hospitals must recognise that mistakes are possible where written confirmation of an order is not received.

Without the confirmation telephone call there is a risk that these requests are not processed immediately.

Place your order (for details see the user guide) and then ring your Hospital Services department to alert them.
