NHSBT’s pricing and service proposals

The Department for Health and Social Care has confirmed NHSBT’s pricing and service proposals for 2022/23 through the National Commissioning Group for Blood.

Following the agreement a revised four-year contract has now been issued to hospital trusts along with the formal outcome letter, annual impact statements and price lists. These documents were sent to trust finance directors. The confirmation letter and blood component price lists are available on our website. 

The pricing model in place for 2021/22 continues into 2022/23 as a fixed plus variable cost model to recover the cost of blood components from NHS hospitals and a full cost per item for independent hospitals.
