New SHOT blood donation Myth Busters poster for World Blood Donor Day

June 14 is celebrated globally as the ‘World Blood Donor Day’ and is the birthday anniversary of Karl Landsteiner who was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the ABO blood group system. This year is particularly special as it marks the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day. The World Health Organisation's slogan for this year's celebration is "20 years of celebrating giving: Thank you, blood donors!".

With input from the NHSBT Donor Medical team, we released a blood donation myth buster on the eve of the World Blood Donor Day 2024.
