Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) plasma announcement on the treatment of patients with TTP

Clinical colleagues should continue to follow BSH guidelines for the treatment of Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, which advocate the use of solvent detergent plasma (SD-FFP) for this patient group.  

I would like to thank hospital colleagues for completing our survey capturing their initial response to the announcement. Nearly 50% of hospitals, currently being brought into our planning assumptions for the transition to UK plasma self-sufficiency responded to the survey.
