Appropriate use of group AB - Methylene Blue Treated FFP
Supply of AB MBFFP has been reduced this year from 16.0% to 8.0%. Since October 2006 the NBS have been closely monitoring the issue of AB MBFFP. These graphs show that the current level of issue for group AB MBFFP is clearly unsustainable. Please click here to view the graphs.
A letter was sent to hospitals on the 26th November regarding the stocks of group AB MB FFP for paediatric use. It outlined the background to the situation and describes a number of actions the NBS feels obliged to take in order to safeguard stock. Click here for full text.
