Preventing Trachoma Blindness
This article was written by Dr Helen Lee, who is part of the NBS research group (though funded independently). Dr Lee is an internationally recognised research scientist and was honoured by being one of only three investigators asked to present her discoveries at the recent Royal visit for the opening of the new Wellcome building. Her work on the rapid diagnosis of trachoma will result in a significant decrease in blindness in countries with low incomes.
