Requests for Credit
The NBS is improving the way it manages requests for credit. The Credit form has been updated and will require a signature confirming that the units listed have been appropriately discarded or returned to NHSBT.
The NBS will reconcile requests for credit against units issued to hospitals or Trusts, credits will only be provided for units directly issued to an individual hospital or Trust by the NBS. Credits requested for units supplied by another hospital or Trust will need to be claimed from that supplier.
Some of the credit codes are being subtly altered. Products that are being claimed as credit because they did not meet your requirements should be claimed as WRI (Incorrect Product Received) or MIS (Other reason) and such failures will be investigated by NHSBT. Only physically damaged products should be claimed as CRP (Damaged Platelet) or DAR (Damaged RBC).
