Filton Development - Hospital Services
The Hospital Services (formally Issue) function in the M&SW has the primary function of providing hospitals with their blood and component requirements in a timely fashion. The consolidation of Processing within the South west will occur in early 2009 but provision to hospitals will still be covered Birmingham, Oxford, Plymouth and Southampton centres who in turn will be supplied by the state of the art Filton centre.
For hospitals supplied by Bristol, Filton is now the site for:
- Receipt of orders for blood components
- Distriburion of blood components
