Filton Development - Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (H&I)
The Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) laboratory at Bristol is one of six NBS H&I laboratories. The laboratories provide a wide range of services related to transplantation, provision of HLA and HPA matched products and the investigation of HLA related disease associations to hospitals throughout England and north Wales. The hospitals served by the function are each allocated to a laboratory on a geographical basis.
The H&I department at Bristol provides services in the south west. In addition the laboratory also provides Transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) investigations, platelet immunology and granulocyte immunology services nationally.

The laboratory working hours are from 8.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
