Introduction of a new Information system to be used in the NBS Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (H&I) Services
The National Blood Service has been developing a new information system for the delivery of patient services. This Information system is called Hematos and is currently in use in the NBS Red Cell Immunohaematology laboratories. Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics laboratories will be introducing this system soon. The current system (HITS) is now reaching the end of its developmental capability and the introduction of Hematos will allow us to integrate all of the NBS diagnostic and specialist services and deliver the best possible service.
